Diabetes tidbits

Did you know that the problem with diabetes is not the blood sugar? Diabetes or commonly known as High Blood Sugar is a disease that is caused not by the blood sugar itself but by the partial or total absence of a hormone called insulin. Lack of insulin in the human body is the cause of blood sugar accumulation in the blood because the hormone insulin is the transport vehicle that is used by the blood sugar to be used by the muscles, brain and other tissues of the body. Insulin is the key that unlocks the door to let the sugar enter the cells of the body as an energy source.
